The ancient name of Naradghat was Kuwaighat which is mentioned by Princep. The Nardeshwar (Shiva) temple was built on the ghat in the middle of the 19th century, the first mention of Nadarghat is by Grebj (1909 AD). The pucca construction of Naradghat was done by a South Indian Swami Sativedanand Dantatreya in the last phase of the 19th century AD.
