Chasatti Ghat

Back

The pucca construction of the ghat was done by Raja Digpatiya of East Bengal in the last phase of 18th century AD. The name of the Ghat is associated with the main Chausath Yogini Temple located at the Ghat. The present Chasatti Devi Temple (1807 AD) is in the individual building (D.22/17). Apart from the Chasatti Ghat temple on the ghat, there is also a Kali temple and several Devakulikas with idols of Shiva, Ganesha and Kartikeya. Occasions such as Falgun (February/March) Shukla Ekadashi (Rangbhari Ekadashi) see maximum number of bathers at the ghat.
